Values shape the way we do things at The Spring and express what is important to us as a community. In everything we do, at every level, as we make our vision a reality, we want The Spring to be about
1.
GOD
We exist for God’s glory and His good pleasure. We are pleasure seekers, holy hedonists seeking the delights of pleasing God and being pleased by Him. He is our Father and we love Him. Like Him, we are WELCOMING. We seek to make people the priorities God has made them, the people of substance they truly are. We welcome everyone in genuine thankfulness for who they are. We will endeavour to make everyone know the genuine WELCOME of GOD!
2.
GRACE
We are pleased to extend this most genuine of welcomes from the Father because of the unmerited favour extended to us undeserving people through the sacrifice of His Son Jesus Christ the Lord, who died as a substitute for us. This is GRACE and we find it to be so EXTRAORDINARILY good that it verges on the SCANDALOUS! So, we are about God’s OUTRAGEOUS grace towards us. Indeed, we find this grace to be EXCESSIVELY generous and so in turn we too are GENEROUS with God, freely giving Him our time, talents and finances. At The Spring we aim to live EXTRAVAGANTLY gracious lives on every level!
3.
GROWTH
A journeying people in receipt of such favour MUST be a growing people. Growing in maturity, growing in responsibility and as a body, growing numerically. In light of God and His grace we anticipate and expect GROWTH on every level.
4.
GOODNESS
In this fallen world, in our fallen state, often troubled on every side, we choose to believe the Bible’s declaration of God, that HE IS GOOD! Indeed, we most thoroughly expect the goodness of God to be expressed towards us, His blood bought children. In turn, we are pleased to be the servants of God’s goodness towards one another, others in the Kingdom of God, our local communities and our nation. We are the servants of God and of one another, pleased to express His caring and tender goodness.
5.
GUTS
We believe we are called to be soldiers. So we expect there to be a great measure of difficulties in our journey. To this end we are a robust people, not easily offended and neither quitters nor cowards. We expect everyone to grow in strength and courage. God’s greater glory and our greater God as a people, community and nation, are all rooted in the courage and strength of God’s people. We are tender folk but we are tough at heart. This toughness expresses itself especially in the adventure of risk taking and the pressing in of prayer. We are a praying people, pulling down strongholds and advancing God’s kingdom.
6.
GLORY
At The Spring we believe that the Glory of God is a person fully released and alive to God. We believe in life and glory! We believe in warming ourselves on such glory this side of heaven. We aim to be a truly released, alive and glorious church! To this end, we live well and we do things well, with all the liveliness that a redeemed soul can muster!
